In the US, the flu is most prevalent during the coldest months of the year, we offer the Influenza Vaccine (Flu Shot)
Based on the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC recommends the vaccine should be administered by the end of October, but vaccination should continue to be offered as long as influenza viruses are circulating locally and unexpired vaccine is available.
Vaccination too early in the season (e.g., July or August) may lead to suboptimal immunity later in the season, particularly among older adults.
Children aged 6 months through 8 years who require 2 doses, should receive their first dose as soon as possible after vaccines becomes available, and the second dose 4 weeks later.
For more information about the Influenza Vaccine, please ask our staff for details or visit:

When Should I Get My Flu Shot?
For maximum protection, the CDC recommends getting the flu shot by late October so that your body has time to develop the antibodies that it requires to fight off the flu. However, getting a vaccine later in the season is better than not getting flu shots at all.
Who Should Get the Flu Shot?
Anyone over the age of six months benefits from getting a flu shot each year. Although infants younger than six months old can’t get the flu shot, they are still protected if others in their household get the vaccine.
How is the Flu Shot Administered?
The flu shot is administered as a needle injection or nasal spray. Adults and children nine or older who have previously been vaccinated will get one dose. Children aged nine or younger will get two doses spaced about four weeks apart if they have not had a flu vaccine in the past.
If you want to get relief from your allergy and asthma symptoms this year or learn more about the flu shot, contact Dr. Tottori today. You can schedule an appointment online or by calling our office at (702) 240 4233.
