Eczema in the Summer

Photograph Of Family On Airbed In Swimming PoolThe summer brings higher temperatures to our valleys area, with each year seemingly higher than the year prior. For many patients suffering with eczema, this time of year can raise questions on how to take care of their eczema, especially during summertime activities.

I recommend small amounts of sun exposure during summertime, as UV light may provide some benefit.

In addition, water activities are allowed for eczema patients, however rinsing the pool water off is strongly encouraged along with gently pat drying then moisturizing.

Lastly, always use sun block protectants over your eczema creams as this may provide additional moisturizing benefits.

I hope you enjoy the summer and the many activities it brings!!!
